Bakugan BattlePack: The History of Intergalactic Warfare

Intro

Every year there’s a list of hot toys that kids find ESSENTIAL as Christmas gifts. This year Bakugan BattlePack is sure to be one of the top selling Christmas toys.

Here’s a brief report on where it came from (another world, can’t beat that!) and what Bakugan is all about.

The History

Bakugan is based on the hugely popular children anime TV show ‘Bakugan Battle Brawlers‘ which debuted in Japan in 2007. It began in the United States on The Cartoon Network February 2008.

Sega Toys and Spin Master released the Bakugan game to complement the TV series. Now the TV series is sweeping America and has started to be shown in other countries. Bakugan is similar to Pokemon in that it isn’t just about the toys or the game.
The TV series is about a group of kids, Dan Kuso and his 5 online friends, who play the game of Bakugan. They began playing when Bakugan cards
mysteriously started falling from the sky. They learned that the stakes are high — Bakugan monsters actually exist in the dimension of Vestoria, a parallel universe. They must defeat the Bakugan monsters to save Vestroia, and ultimately the Earth itself from destruction.
All Bakugan brawlers have an elemental theme from its home world:

– Aquos — water world

– Darkus — world of darkness

– Haos — world of cold

– Pyrus –world of fire

– SubTerra — world of earth

– Ventus — world of plants.
The translation of the name Bakugan from Japanese yields a clue to the basic nature of the game: “baku” means “to explode” and “gan”, means “sphere.” So an exploding sphere is the source of hundreds of hours of safe fun.

The Players

Even little ones (4 and up) can play and enjoy. The game play is fun enough to interest children through the middle school years. 2-4 players can play together.

In order to play your child will need some skill, imagination, and luck. That’s a great combination to keep your child entertained for hours. It’s rare to find a game like this: low price, ties into a favorite TV show, and is so much fun.
The youngest player shoots first. Each player takes turns.

The Bakugan Brawlers

The Bakugans are small colored spheres that magnetically morph into powerful Bakugan warriors when they are rolled onto real metallic gate cards. If an opponent’s battle brawler lands on the same card as your brawler, they go into battle. The battle brawler with the higher points wins the battle.

The game continues until there are no Bakugans left to play or no cards left on the battle field. The winner is determined by the adding up the HSP points of each card and bakugan that the player has won.

Christmas: The Season For … Mayhem

The largest part of the appeal of these toys is that they are fun!

Bakugan Battle Brawlers has been named the Top Toy of 2008 by a number of publications. It is so popular that it is flying off store shelves everywhere. Waiting to the last minute to buy is a very risky strategy.
Parents everywhere are being asked to buy Bakugan. Kits include everything your child needs to recreate the action at home.
As the Borg (of Star Trek fame) used to say, “Resistance is futile.”

A Bakugan enthusiast, the author suggests that for more information, you go to Bakugan Evolutions or Bakugan Doom Card
